For locals and visitors from afar!
Monumental Walks is for visitors to Washington DC and local residents alike. We sometimes fail to see the sights in our own backyard! I lived in San Diego for years and never got to see the San Diego Zoo! Monumental Walks offers you a memorable way to highlight your visit to the nation’s capital. Our licensed tour guide is certified by the city of Washington D.C and has spent many years working at these famous monuments and memorials—ensuring a fun and meaningful tour experience. The Park Service brochures are nice - but you'll want someone to relate the stories behind the memorials. Why is 'Kilroy' on the World War II Memorial? Why is a civilian listed on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial? What is the symbolism of the statues in the Korean Memorial? What remarkable events occurred on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial? Allen often does the training on 'Interpretive Talks' for new Volunteers with the National Park Service. He still continues his volunteer work even as he hosts 'Monumental Walks'.
